Episode 27: Sub Sub Pop

The internet isn't only a place for for shut-ins to discuss their fetishes. It's also a place where self-aggrandizing attention sluts ceaselessly bludgeon the public with their own material in a transparent and shameless grab for attention. And as podcast providers, The F Plus is sympathetic to such naked egotism, but what happens if your band sucks? This week, we're taking on the music site Review Rinse Repeat, which not only reviews bands, but also lets unsigned bands explain how different and special they all are.

I think it was on one of those expanded free-to-air digital channels, that the networks toss the shows that they have the rights to air but know nobody would watch.

The Voice airs in Australia?

I'm Australian and even I didn't know what it was, let alone that it aired here...

Now, I'm only sort of aware that The Voice airs in Australia, and I've never seen more than a promo of it, but isn't the idea to be judging these people on their voices instead of their looks?

Because it looks to me like everyone detailed in that recap look fairly attractive anyway. Good ol' Charlotte Sometimes has slightly bigger eyes than expected, and that first video's guy has stupid hair, but that's kind of it. Are they missing the point of their own show? I honestly want to know.

Quoting Lé Mon!:
Just yesterday I noticed that The Voice is the current Rolling Stone cover story, just in case anyone mistakenly thought Rolling Stone was still relevant in any way.

This has NOTHING to do with this episode (which was fantastic, by the way), but I couldn't find another way of getting in contact with anyone here (granted, I didn't try terribly hard, as it's hot out and I'm a bum).

I was wondering if you guys would allow guest readers? I've done a fair bit of reading, have worked on a podcast with friends in the past, and a terrible need to subject myself to the horrors of the internet. Hopefully I fit the "reader" bill.
