Montrith- I appreciate what you're saying. I don't think I'm going to change my mind on this particular situation, but knowing that the general attitude is one supportive of the stuff I talked about is really reassuring to me. It is possible that I'm biased because of my own experiences. Either way, thanks for responding the way you did.

Rebecca, please join ballp.it and come see us all blast disgusting creeps who think that "no means maybe" and "women have secret rape fantasies". It might also give you a new perspective on the furry logic of sexual favors which is what we're making fun of, not rape. I'm probably not going to convince you to see things my way, but please understand that we hate rape-apologist douches just as much as the next guy who doesn't post on 4chan.

How does any of this make what happened consensual? Like, do we fundamentally disagree that 'no means no'? Thats some pretty straight forward shit imo, if someone says no you stop, and if you keep going and try pressure them into doing stuff thats sexual abuse. It seems like everyone's argument is that if it had been nonconsensual the guy would have responded differently. The reality is rape survivors respond in a million different ways, it doesn't make it okay. Frankly it's just not relevant IMO. I don't see anyone disputing that this dude pressured and manipulated the other guy and ignored him when he said no. I wasn't trying to say the guy didn't get judged at all, but in particular I recall a joke about how it was all the other guys fault for giving in. I know the intent was to be funny, but that's pretty fucked up.

Quoting Rebecca:
Instead judge the person who refused to take no for an answer.

Uh, we were judging the shit out of Nekobe the whole time. I believe Jack Chick called him a "fucking wackjob." However, the story that was read was a firsthand account, written by someone who was actually there. Nowhere in the story did I get the impression that the owners who had taken Nekobe in were anything more than confused and annoyed by him. They didn't convey that they were ever actually afraid of him or took anything he said seriously. He was just so annoying that they tried giving him a handjob to shut him up, and after they saw that that didn't work (twice), then they kicked him out.

So, they demonstrated that they were emotionally capable of kicking him out at any time, they just gave him so much benefit of the doubt because he is someone who also happens to like cartoon animals "that way."

Even if they person was crying or non responsive or passed out or had said no again and again. That guy knew he the other one wanted him to leave him alone, and he didn't. The fact is, many people aren't capable of fighting someone off or calling attention to someone pressuring them sexually . They may freeze up or try to minimize the situation because of social anxiety or other mental health related things. I have to be very guarded now because when a guy does harass me sexually and corners me I tend freeze up and break down even if I have friends in hearing distance. Montrith, you basically asked the 'why didn't they try harder?' question pretty much every victim hears. It judges the response of the victim, when all that matters is that they didn't consent. Instead judge the person who refused to take no for an answer. Not everyone can respond 'perfectly'- and that's not their job. It Is the job of the person perusing sexual contact to make sure it's consensual.

I appreciate both of the people who commented for not using the personal information I put out there against me. I shared that because it helps me explain where I'm coming from- I'm not trying to be a shit, I really like this podcast, but that part really upset me. For one thing- having a stranger in your house pressure you while your friends are asleep is scarier than you think- particularly one that talked about how he wanted to hurt people. Can you see why having a violent stranger pressure you into sexual acts and refuse to take no for an answer- cant you see how scary that is? Many people freeze up and have trouble speaking out. If someone says no and another person harasses them until they give in- that is not consent. Rapists deliberately choose situations that make it easy for them to push boundaries- they isolate people (waiting until the other roommates went to bed), they use alcohol, and guilt and manipulation. Then they pretend they had no idea that it was nonconsensual.

Iunno Montrith I figure it's important to listen when a person tells you they were horrified to hear a thing because it reminds them of their trauma, there's no sense in risking causing someone pain. The circumstances don't matter that much when someone gets pressured into sex acts, it can still conjure up terrible images.

Way to blame the victim... I mean, what the hell you guys.

Only this guy's partner was literally in the room next to them. If he had really felt threatened he could have just walked there and the two of them could have kicked the guy out. I'm not trying to make light of your experience, but I think there's a big difference between your situation and the fact that they took this guy into their home, put up with him for five days, paid him to leave and most of the time there were three of them against one of him. This Draco guy gave him a handjob because he was annoyed, not because he felt scared or threatened.

Um Jesus Christ you guys, I know this episode is old but- what the fuck? What's described in the 'yiff the otter' section is rape. Like really fucking blatantly. Corocing someone into sexual acts by guilt/manipulat ion and refusing to accept no for answer is a common part of sexual abuse. When I was raped it sounded a lot like that- I was scared, my friends were gone and I barely knew this guy. I kept telling him I didn't want to, but I couldn't get away. So eventually I just did what he told me to, hoping he would leave me alone and not hurt me. The fact this story was treated as a joke, and someone blamed the guy for giving him a handjob is fucking sick. Real consent is given freely without duress. Way to blame the victim... I mean, what the hell you guys.

I almost can't believe it, but 2 the ranting gryphon is the only person I've heard a reading of on this podcast that I've felt nothing but intense hatred towards. Every single other contribution in the ENTIRETY of this podcast's history was just laughable or creepy or pathetic or whatever.... but 2 is just so intensely, infuriatingly unfunny that I feel nothing but the desire to take a baseball bat to his fursuit.

To late '90s internet furries this was humor. Remember that always.

As soon as I heard "a furry that even other furries can't stand", I instantly knew it would be Nekobe, and I got so excited that I almost had a heart attack. Luckily I was able to get a handjob from Imagine Skagons, so now I'm fine.

Maybe I'm being too cynical, but I would almost presume that CAROLE was actually some kind of stealth marketer for prosthetic devices and using the guise of a "crazy person" on the Web to spread virally and drive brand association. Why else focus so much on the exact brand and model of the prosthesis equipment that would be acquired from having missing limbs? It's too suspicious, and I think she should be ashamed for being such a sellout to BIG HOOK (aka the Hosmer Dorrance Corporation)!

To me, the biggest challenge in thinking of ska cover acts is that I end up wanting to hear the resulting music. All I know about Skallex's music is that I really want to know what that sounds like.
