SPECIAL GUEST: Cheapskate

Edited by Isfahan

For man to be truly aware of himself, he must explore his own mind. To examine your own thoughts, wants and failures and growing on the things you've learned is the way to thrive; to be a member of an evolving species who looks toward the horizon and takes a step forward. But what of dreams, those manifestations of your subconscious that you cannot seize control of? With an expression so disjointed and free of rational throught, can a dream really ever be understood? Well, if you're a member of dreammoods.com, sure! All you gotta do is start typing. This week, The F Plus is just waiting for Varzandeh to show up.

You know, that's not too unlikely, given the general behavior of the ostriches I've met. Also, I think that means you'll receive a golden hawk from the magistrate.

The weirdest dream I can remember was that I was being chased by an ostrich who kept yelling at me to "STOP STEALING [his] OSTRICH EGGS!". THe weird part was that after a few minutes of this I actual stopped and said "Wait, ostriches can't talk" and the ostrich was legitimately taken aback by this for a few moments. Then he just went right back to chasing and yelling at me.

Understanding one's dreams is possible--there are legit methods of dream interpretation, but they all involve focusing on recurring elements and the associations one personally attaches to certain images. It's nothing like this "seeing a white horse in a dream prognosticates a happy marriage" shit.

What's the meaning of the dream I had where the F Plus was trying to read "Latawnya, The Naughty Horse, Learns to Say 'No' to Drugs" but the pages were all out of order?

I don't know, but I need you to listen very carefully:

Think back about what you did that day and do your best to repeat that very same schedule. With any luck the dream will pop up again. Before you have that dream, you need to doze off in a chair with a metal spoon in your hand. Get as much of that reading as possible before the spoon drops and when you are jarred from your dream, write every thing you remember from that dream.

And then send it to the F Plus, because it's important that the world know about the naughtiest horse who realizes that drugs are bad.

So, and I swear this is true, last night I had a dream that I had to hide sushi in my ears and got them full of sushi rice. I am seriously tempted to post about it on that site and see what Varzanda has to say about it.

All Varzandeh would do is look at the dream interpretation book that he has open on his lap and re-type every entry that mentions sushi.

There's a program you often see in an Intro to Algorithms course, where you give it a book, it cuts the book into three-word phrases, and then generates new strings of text from those phrases. The objective is that the new text you get shouldn't be in the book, but it should sound like it was by the same author.

Varzandeh sounds a lot like the kind of output you get from those programs.

Well, it's not exactly a Ron Paul episode, though it's definitely on the same realm. If there ever was to be a RP episode, I would have so much stuff for that.

On a related note, apparently the guy who sang the original Pokemon theme song a) still exists and b) is now a crazy person who thinks Ron Paul's going to win the Republican nomination.

Oh fuck yes, a Ron Paul episode? I am already looking forward to this one. I love stupid politics when it's in a form that won't directly harm me.

Well, whaddya know?
"To see or eat sushi in your dream indicates that you need to acknowledge your spiritual side. It is food for thought. Or it may symbolize certain raw emotions that you have yet to deal with. Alternatively, sushi means that you need to adapt a more healthier lifestyle."

The only thing more irritating than someone trying to get you to listen to the dream they had is someone telling you about a dream that obviously never happened but they thought sounded cool or LOLRANDUM.

Half of these interpretations sounded like someone picked every fourth word out of a Wikipedia article tangentially related to the dream and smashed them together into a paragraph of psychic nonsense.

I do that all the time at parties. The trick to letting yourself down gracefully in front of a crowd of people is to adopt a mad scientist laugh just as you're coming down from the humor.

Incidentally, this is also pretty much what it sounds like when I sing along to the radio while driving.

If you haven't done this song yet, you need to take a recorder with you in the car and do this song like YESTERDAY:

I kind of want to register to this forum just to see what explanation they'd come up for my dream where I'm Donald Duck and Scrooge is forcing me to do a parachute jump while singing the alphabet song.

To see ducks in your dream represent your spiritual freedom (if flying) or the subconscious (if swimming). Ducks are multi-talented animals in that they can walk, swim and fly. Thus, a duck indicates your flexibility and your ability to blend and adapt in various situations. Alternatively, the dream suggests that you are setting yourself up or being set up for the kill as associated by the phrase "sitting duck".

To see a white duck in your dream signifies falsehood and deceit.

To see a two-headed duck in your dream suggests that you need to be more grounded.

To dream that you are in a parachute represents a protective force over you.

See, this is the kind of bullshit I sprout when I demonstrate to my friends why all this psychic stuff shouldn't be taken seriously. Did a cold reading to one of them and she was seriously impressed before I explained how it works.
